Research and Studies: CRD has accomplished educational need assessment of Kavre district. It has also conducted monitoring and evaluation and impact study of alternative energy used by Tharu community from Banke, Bardiya and Kailali districts. A survey on HIV/AIDS knowledge to transport workers has also been completed with the co-ordination of Paribartan Youth Group of Banepa Kavre. Poverty Alleviation through providing financial facilities for helpless women: CRD will co-ordinate with different MFIs to the upliftment of women’s status, especially for helpless widows and deprived women. We will enhance their skills and competences in such fields as, organic vegetable farming, beehive farming, pig farming, goat farming, income generating training and we will assist them marketing techniques to sell their products. CRD will be also concentrated on providing some training on saving and credit management. To reduce poverty from the rural community of Nepal, CRD has formed different 10 groups of women who are now saving daily 1 Re for their secure life. More than 2,00,000 NRs has been mobilized for micro entrepreneurship promotion among women. Youth Leadership Development for Peace Building Program : Youths are the wealth of nation and great leaders for the tomorrow. But the situation of youth awareness and leadership among them is very poor regarding the transformation and development of nation. Some youths have been encouraged and mobilized in the destructive sectors, they are deprived from the real information and kowledge. And youths problems are often treated by short term solution. They have been separated in the process of policy and decision making. Low level of knowledge and leadership skill among youths may worsen the situation of a nation. CRD Nepal has been conducting discussion series among the youths on burning issues, leadership and enterprise development training yearly for the youth leadership. This step of CRD will help to resume the peace and encourage them for the self employment. Recently Association of Youth Organization Nepal (AYON) has been providing technical support for the continuation of this step of CRD. In this series 12 youth related issues are focused for the discussion and leadership development of youths. Model Village Program in a particular VDC: CRD will select a VDC (Village Development Community) from the remote area of Nepal, in which this program will address the basic needs of the people in the community, such as: basic education, awareness on health and sanitation, general information, income generating activities to be self-sustainable, develop knowledge on preserving the environment with the help of an awareness Champaign, leadership development, gender sensitization, participatory action research and the formation of user groups. |
